    Why a pusher configuration? Does that get you anything much? Protect the propeller at all during landing?

    I thought pusher style flight was abandoned post WW1.... ah guess not!

    I think the pusher is mostly for looks. A flying wing is nice and fast and slippery, but a jet configuration with a big fat propellor in the nose looks silly.

    Also having the motor raised up at the back provides heaps of good cooling airflow, so you can run the motor at huge RPM which also helps with speed.
